Symbolic Map

Picture
The Project
This is how a map of my life would look like. Each area is a drawn representation for the important things in my life. The map is full of symols to make it more personal, meaningful and to include double meanings. It includes my past, present and future. My map includes-
LION VALLEY This is a really important part of my past, for some reasons. The lion has always been my favorite animal of all. Also, I had a stage while I was 3 years old in which I was convinced that I was a lion. I walked like a lion, and acted like one for almost a year.
MSTANG PLAINS One of the things I am a complete fan are the muscle cars, the 1970 Ford Mustang Boss being my favorite car. Its something I love, a true peace of art with a great emgine.
LIGA LAKE Another thing on my fan list is Liga, the best soccer team in the whole world. I love to go to the stadium, and to see it win. But for Liga, I'm there when we win, draw and loose.

Reflection
This Project was a lot more easy than what I hat thought I the begining, and it was also more fun. The idea of painting with watercolors scared me, because I had always been really bad using them. Actually, I messed up my work 3 times and had to start all over. Those were usually because the paint had too much water and it mixed with the near areas, creating a mess. Tha brainstorm was pretty hard, because at the begining I didn't know what to put, and at the end I had so many ideas I was overwhelmed. This was definetly a great project, and I really enjoyed it.

Car Drawings

The Project
Cars are one of the things I like the most. I prefer the muscle cars fron the 60's and 70's, but the I also like cars fron the 50's. For the weekly drawings in the sketchbook I spent a lot of time drawing some cars, making sure it looked real. Most aren't painted, because I was afraid the colors would ruin the pencil-made details. There is a  Photo Gallery with all the cars I drew at the bottom of the page.
Reflection
I  couldn't include all of the car drawings I made because they were in my first sketchbook, but these still seve well. The only bad thing is that my favorite car, the Ford Mustang, was in my other sketchbook, so it isn't here. This was my favorite part of Art class this year- being able to make good drawings of whatever you feel drawing. Personally, I think these are the best drawings I've made in my whole life, and it was probably because of the subjuect, which is my favorite in all the world. The 1970 Dodge Challenger, 1971 Plymouth Barracuda, 1969 Dodge Charger, 1953 Chevy Bel Air, and the 1950 Mercedes Benz 500K are all among my favorite cars. They were all worth every line to draw them, I enjoyed drawing them.

Bullfight Drawings

The Project
The bullfights are one of the arts I like the most. These drawings were made for the weekly Sketchbook drawings arund Febuary 2011, when the Spanish El Fandi and the French Sebastian Castella, 2 of the most famous bullfighters came to talke to the goverment about the bullfight prohibition. Again, I didn't paint most because I was afraid the details would be ruined. There is also a Photo Gallery at the bottom with all my bullfighting drawings.
Reflection
Bullfighting is not only a simple matter of courage, it is an art. Just as music or dancing is an art, bullfighting is a great expresion. Its a passion, a feeling. And an art that has cautivated me since I was very young. Here I have drawn some of the steps and moves in classic bullfighting with the muleta and capota, 2 different bullfighting capes, as well as  a rejoneo with horse. These were extermly hard to draw, since they resemble an acion in the bullfighter, the cape, the bull and the horse. This was a great method to concentrate my passion for this art while demostrating its beauty while the Bullfighter fans in Ecuador fight against its prohibition. I'm very proud of this work.
